Boxing Day 2020
Seasonal silly hats were on show at our clubs Boxing Day "roll- up". Yes it was a chilly start to the morning but that didn't deter 20 hardy souls from attending, including half a dozen ' newbies'. Those' newbies' were new local residents Tony and Julie Mason who are experienced bowlers from the UK .(no photo on this occasion).
Then (pictured bottom left) were Luke and Julie Williams, another new couple to the area, but who were cajoled by yours truly into picking up a set of woods for the very first time. With some help and guidance they were pitted against the vastly experienced pairing of Ray and Lorraine Malt, (pictured bottom right). Well in truth it was only their 3rd attempt at bowling, but all are showing early signs of becoming accomplished bowlers.
With bucks fizz, mince pies supplied by the club and complimented by Lin Lyons fab lemon drizzle cake and Pauline Hayes sausage rolls and do I dare mention a little something to warm the cockles of your heart being provided by Roger Finch it all made for a fun filled, seasonal session.
Lets hope we all have a Happy and healthy 2021.
